Waxman, Meyer
(1887-1969)
   American scholar. He was born in Slutsk in Belorussia. In 1905 he emigrated to the US, where he became principal of the Mizrahi Teachers Seminary, and later director of the Mizrahi Zionist organization. In 1924 he joined the faculty of the Hebrew Theological College in Chicago; he was later appointed professor of Hebrew literature and philosophy there. His writings include A Handbook of Judaism, Judaism: Religion and Ethics and A History of Jewish Literature.
